Project Update: Kaur Foundation

Dear Donor,

With your support Kaur Foundation (KF) has had an exciting start to 2017.  Here are some highlights:

  • Training more teachers to have ‘Courageous Conversations’ and to tackle issues that the Sikh community faces, such as bullying, harassment and discrimination, in their classrooms.  (January Educators Training, Houston, Texas).
  • Presenting at the plenary session of the Middle States Social Studies conference in February, reaching over 200 social studies educators and administrators.

“Kaur Foundation, you were mentioned by several people…you made a difference.  Yesterday in class, one of my students who was in your session made a point to talk about Sikhism and gave the class a little lesson.  You just don’t know how often you touch people’s lives. Thank you so much!” Marcie Thoma, Director, Maryland Council for Civic and History Education.

  • Over the next few months we are recruiting volunteers to help at the National Council of Social Studies conference, 2017 which will be held this year in November in San Francisco. Interested in volunteering with KF? Please fill out this form https://goo.gl/forms/bDq8gh4bjrMd5gr12
